Abstract:
On July 26, 2005 the National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) conducted a workshop consisting of
fire service and fire safety personnel that had tow
objectives. The first, was to give the attendees a
presentation of the history and present status of the
project entitled "Building Tactical Information System
for Public Safety Officials". The second objective was
to have the group participate in a hands-on exercise,
where they were able to work with and evaluate the
present system of first responder information displays
which are designed to provide real time building and
emergency information to incident command and dispatch
centers. Their evaluations and recommendations for
improvements of the current displays are presented in
this document.
